Yes, that is blood on my shorts!!! Let me explain. Yesterday was the last day of swimming lessons for my kids and I wanted to be early/ontime. So, I quickly threw on my shorts....which sometimes I usually shake a little just in case of scorpions because we have found a few in our bedroom over the past year. Anyways, I put them on and then immediately felt a sharp sting and I knew!!! I just knew! (I have the chills just thinking about it!) So, I immediately grabbed at the area where the sting was in hopes that I was squeezing and grabbing the scorpion that was in my shorts. I was shaking and screaming and didn't want to let go of my shorts in case I did have a hold of the scorpion in the fold.....so I finally was brave enough to release one hand to try to unbutton my shorts and slowly pull them down. I immediately let go of my grasp and there was no scorpion. I didn't have it!!! So, I told the kids to hurry and get out of my bedroom because there was a scorpion somewhere. I then lifted the shorts again and there the scorpion was squirming around....I must have squished it a little when I went to grab at the area where it stung me. Anyways, the blood on the shorts is from me in panic grabbing at the area when it stung me and I sliced open my thumb from my nail in the process of grabbing. Blood was everywhere on my finger, and at the time I had no idea how I got blood on me and how I got cut..I was seriously thinking the scorpion got me from its pinchers, but that is impossible. So, after all that, I looked at my leg and had 4 sting marks!!! One big one and 3 small ones. It was the worst pain I had ever experienced.....besides child birth. It felt like needles were pricking into me and I felt movement underneath the area as if something was crawling underneath my skin. This lasted ALL DAY yesterday. The only thing that sort of made it feel a little better was ice. Then, I started sneezing a little and my nose was really itchy. Next, I started to get really dizzy and couldn't focus on anything. My eyes were just jumping around and then I noticed my hands and feet were all tingly and numb and drinking water was awful, because the water tasted like salt water and my tongue and throat were numb. So, last night I was still in a lot of pain and had a hard time sleeping, but by morning it has gotten significantly better. My hands currently are still tingly and numb, my knee is numb, and my eyes are still jumping around and it is hard to focus, but I think I am getting better!!! This was my first scorpion sting/venomous sting ever. I have never been stung by a bee or wasp or anything! So, I think my body reacted pretty badly to the venom! Now, I am even more freaked out by these little creatures because I don't want my kids to experience the awful pain I felt. And, if one ever stung Cole, he could die! So, yes, I am enjoying Arizona very much, and bring on the spiders from Utah because they are nothing compared to scorpions!!!

Ava's first lose tooth, and Brec's b-day!
Ava lost her first tooth the other day! We were so nervous that this tooth would never come out because Ava is funny about pain and wants to do things herself, so I figured she would never pull the thing out. So, the other day we told her it needed to come out soon or else she would swallow it, so she went into the bathroom and starting trying to pull out. She made it bleed and it still wouldn't come out, but she kept trying and then she let me wiggle it and I finally just pulled it out for her. She was so brave, and seriously, this is huge for Ava to let me do it for her since she won't even let me pull a sliver out of her.....she has to do it herself. Anyways, she was super excited about the tooth fairy and woke up at 5:30 the next morning running in my room telling me that the tooth fairy came. Now, we think the tooth next to the one that just came out is lose! Lucky girl is going to get a lot of fun visits from the tooth fairy!
Brec turned 3! We decided to have a little family party this year to celebrate We swam at the pool, but it ended up being really crowded and a few less cousins/kids were unable to come so we decided to venture over to my sis-in-law's house to finish the party. Yes, he got an awesome garbage truck for his birthday. It even lifts the garbage can to the top of the truck to dump it. Pretty awesome......
We did some more swimming after cupcakes and presents until it got dark. The kids had so much fun showing off their skills from swimming lessons....can't wait to have a pool someday in our backyard!
- He loves garbage trucks, but is afraid of them.
- He will play with his cars and trucks for hours in our bathroom.
- He loves sports mostly basketball.
- He loves wearing basketball shorts.
- He weighs 32 pounds.
- He says chicken instead of kitchen.....love it.
- He likes to "shight". (fight) Pretty much he likes to wrestle and calls it "shighting".
- He takes great naps and goes to bed so easily.
- He will pretty much eat anything or try anything.
- He climbs and gets handfuls of pretzels or animal crackers in the pantry all by himself without asking until I see him randomly around the house eating them.
- He loves swimming.
- He is very independent and likes to get himself dressed saying, "I do it".
- He loves songs at bedtime and sings with dad.
- He is such a lovebug and wants to kiss and cuddle all the time. Hope that never goes away!
- He is currently learning how to use the potty and hopefully he will catch on quick!!!

Diamondbacks game

We got invited to a Diamondbacks game in one of the suites which was so fun!!! There was all you could eat hot dogs, chicken strips, brownies and cookies, chips, sodas, etc. The kids had so much fun playing with the other kids there, and we were happy they were able to run around in a confined area.Monday, June 14, 2010
Cole's baby blessing

The day turned out great! It was super hot that day being 110 degrees, but I think we are all getting used to it!! Cole was an angel during the blessing and kept his eyes wide open looking around at all the men. He is growing and getting more fat on his legs....love chubby babies. He talks a lot to his mobile and to us when we talk to him. He definitely is our most vocal baby. He is so sweet and loves his cuddles. He would rather cuddle up with his blankets with me in sight rather than me actually holding him and rocking him. He is now sleeping 5-6 hours at night....woo woo! He occasionally likes a pacifier, but doesn't need it at night...unlike my other kids who completely depended on the pacifier!! He is so fun and adorable and has the most irresistible cheeks to kiss....poor kid gets smothered. At least he is loved!!!
