Crafting.....

I have been crafting lately. I want to do sooo much more and have a list of things I need to get accomplished, but these are just a few things I have been doing. It takes time, but it is always fun doing it!

Sick Cole/Valentine's day

Cole has been sick....he finally finished out his antibiotic med today thank goodness, so he doing much better now! It all started when he had a lingering cough that got worse to the point where he started to throw up at every meal. We took him in and the doc said he had an ear infection and bronchiolitis or RSV. So, he was put on steroids, Albuterol for his wheezing and congestion, and antibiotics. He continued to throw up at every meal. It was awful because even in public he would just throw up on himself. It was sad. The throwing up was not from a stomach problem, just for some reason when he ate it triggered his gag reflex and he just couldn't keep food down even though he was hungry. His coughing is now gone and he is no longer throwing up, so we are doing good! The above pic is of Cole in the early days when he was sick just shortly after he woke up in the morning. My hubby got out of the shower and found him half under the bed asleep. Poor little guy. On a happier note:

Valentines Day!

The shirt I decided to make Ava this year.

Our Valentine's day went really well. I met up with my hubby for lunch and then in the evening with the kids we made cookies and choc covered strawberries. The kids were especially good on Valentine's day which always makes the day go so much better! I love my family!

Happy birthday to my hubby!

So my husband's birthday fell on the superbowl this year. We went out to Charleston's Saturday night and enjoyed their yummy croissants.

So, Sunday I wanted to make everything homemade and special for my hubbies b-day. I made him of course his favorite, Tres Leches cake, but then decided I needed to make more. So, I made some hi hat cupcakes found in the cupcakes book and also Martha Stewart. They were a little tricky, but they totally turned out!

Looks like a dairy queen dipped cone, right?

The above two pics are some yummy lion house rolls. Yep, I made them and they totally turned out! Rolls have been my challenge and they never turn out right for me, but when I finally tried the lion house roll recipe they turned out beautiful, don't you think.....and yes I did feel silly taking pics of my rolls before and after....I was proud.

All the yummy desserts...too bad my hi hat cupcakes were practically inedible. The little ones in the pic were good because I just used chocolate frosting, but the big dipped ones I cut into and the frosting had too much of an almond taste and is was a little gritty. Too bad....next time I will not add almond extract like the recipe calls for and I will make sure to dissolve the sugar better so it doesn't turn out gritty! The looks of the cupcakes were the best and that is all the matters for me.....at least I was able to achieve that!

And, I had to add in this pic of Cole watching the superbowl. Love this kid.....

Happy Birthday to my cute hubby! We love you!

Brec and his "habit"/Ava and her finger

This is a regular around our house. He is constantly holding that thing, and while I was trying to get pics of him because he looked so cute coming home from preschool, he just wouldn't take his hand off of it for one second, no matter how many times I kept telling him to let go of it. Yes, it turns out he needed to go to the bathroom, but seriously he does constantly hold it and friends and family always asks if he needs to use the bathroom and rarely that is the case. I don't get why boys need to touch those things so much......

Ava got her finger slammed in the car door over the weekend. We took her to the doc and he said it could use stitches, but that he thinks it will be okay without. She has a big cut/divot that needs to heal.....

And.....no I did not tell her to pose that way for me. What is funny about these pics is that she has no idea what she is doing or what the finger means. We asked her what she did and said at school and she showed her teacher her finger just like the above pics....awesome. We laughed and then she started showing us her finger more and making funny faces.....it was even more funny because she was laughing because she thought we were laughing at her silly face when really it was the whole finger thing and her not knowing. Love the innocence!
